About
In November members of Firstline attended the MHRA GMDP Symposium 2019, held in London at the Novotel London West Hotel.
The Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) event is designed for pharmaceutical industry professionals in quality control, quality assurance, supply chain and production management, as well as regulatory and compliance specialists involved in the manufacturing of medicines.
The Good Distribution Practice (GDP) event is designed to complement the GMP event and covers the distribution aspects. The GDP event is suitable for all wholesalers, including those operating from registered pharmacies. The event is of benefit to managers and key staff members involved in procuring, supplying, storing and exporting medicines as well as Responsible Persons and Quality Personnel.
Agenda for 2019
The seminars for the conference addressed multiple facets of the industry, including updates on the expected impact of the UK’s exit from the European Union (also known as BREXIT). A look back at GDP Deficiency Data, the most common deficiencies that the MHRA found during their inspections and how to improve compliance with your organisation. There was also a focus on GDP requirements for Transport and Export of Medicines, Falsified Medicines, security and stolen goods with an update from the Enforcement Division. This was encompassed with Networking opportunities, Workshops and Inspectors Surgeries.
Why we attend the Symposium
We believe this is an integral opportunity to receive first-hand information and guidance from our governing regulatory body regarding the current trends and changes to the regulations expected in the future, a focus on the main issues and concerns that the MHRA have found in their dealings throughout the year and as always, it is a great opportunity to network with industry specialists to understand their perspectives on upcoming changes, such as how others are preparing for Brexit.
Having the MHRA and their representative Inspectors providing information and sharing their knowledge and experiences in an invaluable source of information and we at Firstline appreciate all the support and will look to continue to attend these conferences in the future, to enable us to maintain our standards to the highest level.
